Welcome to my very first blog post!
I have always wanted to write a blog but always found a reason not to. Well, now that I have started this author website I have no excuse.
As most of you know I have recently finished the first rough draft of my debut novel “An Unexpected Gift”. It is a Contemporary romance set in the beautiful Victorian seashore town of Cape May, NJ, The Jewel of the Jersey shore”. Cape May is the oldest seashore resort in the country and has remained beautiful and retained it’s historical charm until this day. My mothers family has lived in the area for many generations. My 12th great grandfather was John Howland, passenger on the Mayflower and signer of the Mayflower compact. His granddaughter, Hannah Gorham, my 10th great-grandmother moved to Cape May from Barnstable, MA in the 1700’s and passed away in Cape May in 1728. Her descendants, including my mother, have lived there ever since. In 1952 my paternal grandfather purchased a Victorian home on Washington Street which is where my parents met when they were just thirteen years old and the rest is family history. I spent many wonderful summers there and even lived there in the early 2000s. It is my “happy place” and I can’t imagine basing any of my books anywhere else.
I will be bringing you some interesting facts about Cape May in this blog. I will also share with you my journey in the process and publishing of this novel and the next ones to come. I am currently in the ‘first revision’ stage. I will the submit it to my editor. Then I will do the second revision and so on. I am anxious to take you along on my journey to authorship.
I would like to keep you posted on the status of the publishing date and launching of the book. The best way to do this is by sending you my newsletter. If you have not done so already, PLEASE sign up by hitting to the NEWSLETTER button on this site. I would also love any word of mouth advertising of my upcoming book this could really help me in my developing future career.
Until next time!! Ciao!!
